世界各大汽車制造廠商展出的環保節能型汽車規格不同，品種齊全，既有小型生物柴油車，也有中高檔轎車。此外，還有一些混合動力概念車。
各大汽車廠商競相推出環保節能型汽車的原因在於，原油價格上漲導致汽油價格長期居高不下、石油資源不可再生、全球氣候變暖給人類敲響了保護環境的警鐘，政府決策部門和汽車制造廠商必須考慮汽車工業的可持續發展。此外，汽車制造廠商也順勢而動，以“環保”為賣點，吸引消費者，開拓未來市場空間。因此，環保節能型汽車面臨發展的良好機遇。
環保節能型車主要有電動、天然氣、混合動力和生物燃料四種，主要特點是污染小甚至無污染。電動車在城市行駛沒有任何污染排放，天然氣車廢氣排放遠低於汽油車，混合動力車在市區用電力驅動可減少市區空氣污染，生物燃料車可減少廢氣排放８０％。
近幾年來，環保節能型汽車在一些國家發展速度較快。但業內人士表示，這類汽車雖有一定發展，但在國際市場上所佔份額很少，在本屆車展所佔比例不到１０％就說明了現狀。這與發展環保節能型汽車面臨的困難有關：電動車因充電的限制無法遠行的問題難以解決﹔天然氣與石油一樣是不可再生的資源，而且需要遍及各地的充氣站網絡保障﹔混合動力車一車兩台發動機，自身重量增加，消耗大、價格較貴，短期難被普通消費者接受﹔生物燃料雖是從植物中提煉，但生產成本較高。
但與前三種車相比，生物燃料車的發展前景相對較好。生物燃料是用谷物、甜菜、油菜等植物提煉出乙醇，與一定比例的汽油混合作為燃料。汽車制造廠商用現有技術和設備轉產生物燃料汽車比較容易，而且生物燃料供應網絡可用現有的加油站。
法國雪鐵龍公司公共關系部負責人奧格女士在車展上對新華社記者說，雪鐵龍１０多年前開發電動汽車已經具有一定規模，但由於始終沒有經濟實惠的辦法解決電池體積大和充電問題，現在把生物燃料汽車作為發展環保節能型汽車的重點。
由於環保節能型汽車發展面臨一定困難，短期內難形成規模，因此，目前要減少汽車廢氣排放，主要還是靠汽車制造廠商不斷提高汽車技術含量，降低油耗等。（楊京德）

E-bikeboard
奧巴馬總統頒佈的新CAFE（汽車公司平均油耗）法規，給北美汽車工業帶來的衝擊是不言而喻的。新法規要求在2015年，轎車平均油耗從目前的 27.5MPG提高到35.5MPG。且不談汽車專家如何應對，單從油價瘋狂的俯臥撐，也不難看出未來的交通方式要有革命性的變化。奧巴馬油耗法規的推出，可能成為交通革命的催化劑。
瑞士研發的折疊電動摩托（E-Bikeboard）能成為流行的代步工具嗎？
E-Bikeboard?不知道中文應該如何翻譯。權且叫它折疊電動摩托車，辭可達意，但卻不傳神。世界手錶王國瑞士的發明家，研製了這種便利攜帶的電動車，並不是要代替公路上的汽車，而是要推廣輕便節能的代步工具。比起普通的電動小摩托車，E-Bikeboard 顯得小巧、精緻。這種價值2,000美元的車輛其實已登陸美國，並在亞利桑那州生產。
直徑18英吋的前驅動輪以電池推動。兩個小號後輪，提供了行駛平穩的性能。駕駛人可站可坐。鋁車身，玻璃鋼底板，高科技的外形設計，充份顯出了瑞士人的精細和智慧。連電池一起，總重量約為35公斤。折疊後可存放於小型SUV的行李艙。
功率一千瓦的型號，充電一次要4至5小時，時速超過20英哩，行程達22英哩。五百瓦的小功率機型，時速稍慢，但行程超過30英哩。行駛平穩，噪音低，可在12%坡度連續行駛，還可用於越野。
比起自行車，E-Bikeboard重心低，體積小，便於攜帶，老少咸宜。配置行李箱後，可承載整套高爾夫球桿。比起傳統的電動自行車，E-Bikeboard既好玩，又實用。
不過2,000元的價碼，讓多數人望而卻步。不過話說回來，瑞士勞力士手錶動輒也要上千元。E-Bikeboard如果能夠創出名牌效應，在美國應該小有市場。

Nowaday motorcycle
Motorcycles nowadays can play three roles: A tool, a dress, and a toy.
To being a tool, motorcycles need to be convenience to use and small to park everywhere. And the thing named “Scooter” was burned. Scooter nowadays is a main transportation in the city. The technology of CVT, means continuously variable transmission, let scooter be convenience to ride in the heavy traffic. Besides, scooters are much smaller than motorcycles, the small body let them can be park in city easier. Furthermore, scooter is cover by plastic shell, to prevent the damage to components in side in the city, a high probability to accident area.
To be a dress, motorcycles and cars are the same to be designed with a beauty out looking. To more than half users, motorcycles also stand for the style their own, especially to young users. They like to have a unique one, Likes HARLEY or other modified motorcycles, for their own. Through this phenomenon, we can find that the motorcycles just like dress; no one wants to put on the same one.
And as a toy, people made it to challenge the maximum they can control. One of the motorcycles is Superbike, it challenges the speed on road; and another is Supercross, it challenges the control and performance of the motorcycle off road.

The Definition Of Transportation
In order to find out what is the motorcycle, we have to define “Transportation” first.
Transportation means brings something from place to place. It was considerate with time, distance and efficiency. No matter it just carries people or something else together, in the beginning, transportation is just a tool to move.
But there is another feature of transportations not to mention yet. That is the symbol or small size of socialization. We can find in the different time and countries the unique forms or functions.
Transportation is not born for carrying something, but a something to feed people’s hungry. Or we can say, the age for carry is down, and the age for lifestyle is rise.
In the next topic, we will talk about the relationship between transportations and lifestyle.

The Prototype Of Motorcycle: What Is The Definition Of Motorcycle?
When talking about motorcycles, we cannot avoid mentioning its convenience, speed, nimbleness and powerful. But nowadays of the city life, we can find lots of other ways for transportation, likes Cars, with comfort, safe and being allowed to go on speed road; Bike, with healthy, light, convenience and being connected with electric power technology to has higher speed; bus or MRT are getting highly concentrated and extending to broader range for the more efficiency.
As one of transportations, motorcycle brings the advantages and shortcuts in the middle of cars and bikes. Motorcycle is convenience, but more inconvenience then bike; it is speed, but slower than car; It has a little space to convey, but much smaller than car.
In the not faraway future, maybe the composition and the purpose of transportation will be totally changed. For examples, being with electric power, bike can ride faster and more effort-saving. And its light and very convenience, whatever when parking or bringing, causing a great advantage to beat motorcycle in the single-riding and middle-to-short-distance market. Car maybe goes on gaining more interaction and friendly design inside, but not goes on seeking for the maximum power.
The thing I want to say is : The definitions we see nowadays of transportation will be totally changed by technology. Maybe in the future the most number of transportation is electric bike, maybe in the future the transportation people most like to take is MRT, maybe in the future the purpose to drive car is keeping close with family or friends or going out side to travel.
Each transportation now will go on its own way, and they're being not just a tool for transportation.
So back to our topic, what is the motorcycle?
In the next few topics, I want to research and figure out what do people think about motorcycle, what people want motorcycle to be, or what the motorcycle is indeed.
Or we can get those questions together in one: What is the prototype of the motorcycle.
